If I could give my younger, twenty-something self some advice, it would be the following:

• If the shoes aren’t comfortable in the store, they never will be.
• Enjoy that youthful metabolism! Seriously. CAKE FOR BREAKFAST. 
• Write it down. 
• You can and will unearth a 6-pack. (The abdominal kind.) 
• Speaking of 6-packs, you never will develop a taste for beer, so stop trying.
• Relish that total lack of heartburn while it lasts!
• A nap plus a late bedtime does not, in fact, equal a full night’s sleep. 
• Go to the IKEA in Carson - it’s less crowded than the one in Burbank.
• See the Beastie Boys every chance you get. There’s a good reason, but you don’t need to know it now.
• You’re going to go to Paris, and you are going to love it.
• There will be rollercoasters, but it will be worth it.*
  
  

 * Except actual, literal, amusement-park rollercoasters. Most of them are just an expensive three-hour wait for whiplash. AVOID.
